Meet Lily, our Product Designer.

Tell us shortly about you!

My name is Lily. I’m originally from Vietnam, and I came to Finland to study about nine years ago and found my way into the UX product design field around three years ago. I have experience designing on various digital platforms, from websites to web apps and mobile apps. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, swimming, arts and crafts, and dancing — all things that keep me creative and balanced.

Why did you join Synergi?

What drew me to Synergi was its vision of bringing green energy into households and making energy consumption more sustainable. I wanted to contribute to that mission, and I felt that being part of a small, agile team would allow me to have a real impact. I was also really excited about the opportunity to work on mobile app design, which I had very little experience before this job.

What have you learned?

During my time at Synergi, I’ve gotten more familiar with the energy industry and how much there was to it. To be honest, I didn’t even know there were so many electricity contract types (😅). I’ve also learned about mobile app interactions, project management, and the importance of doing more with less while trusting my instincts as a designer.

What’s your favorite project thus far?

My favorite project has been the Smart Heating & Cooling design project — it was my first project at Synergi, and I got to be involved in the beta testing phase, listen to user feedback, and make iterations based on real input. Our upgraded Smart Charging featuring rewards is another exciting initiative that I’m eager for our users to experience. It is a work-in-progress at the moment, and once released, it will enable households to contribute to a healthier electricity grid and receive rewards for doing so, bringing us closer to achieving our vision and mission

What are your colleagues like?

The team at Synergi is a lot of fun to work with. They are casual and enjoy a good laugh but are also hardworking and dedicated to their work. What I like most is how everyone understands the importance of recharging and has a shared appreciation for balancing work with time to rest.

In your opinion, what are the growth opportunities that Synergi offers?

There are a lot of growth opportunities, namely self-management and prioritization. With so much going on, knowing what to focus on is essential. Working in a small team also means more opportunities to take ownership of projects and be proactive. If you have ideas or opinions, you’re encouraged to share them and move them forward, and that sense of responsibility and contribution helps everyone grow.
