Synergi and Väre partner to bring household flexibility into the core of electricity retail

Helsinki, Finland (2.3.2026) -Väre, one of Finland’s largest electricity providers has launched a strategic collaboration with Synergi, Finland’s leading household flexibility provider, to unlock the full potential of residential flexibility and redefine its role in electricity retail.

Towards a smarter and flexible energy system

Modern technology solutions – such as remote control of devices via Synergi’s software – allow households to participate in wholesale flexibility without the need for heavy manual installations. This opens new, cost-effective ways for electricity retailers to activate their customers’ household loads in ways that benefit grid stability and ultimately create economic impact for their businesses.

Bringing EV flexibility to Finnish energy markets

As a first step, Synergi and Väre will begin their collaboration with a flexibility project, in which the Väre trading team will use Synergi's technical aggregation capabilities and external API to activate EV loads from their own customer base for energy markets. 

The results of the project will provide their customers with tangible benefits beyond reserve market participation, such as monetary rewards, while helping to inform future offerings, like electricity contracts designed specifically for EV-owning households, creating a win-win-win setup for all parties.
